The etymology of the word Enrosadira comes from Ladin, "our" language, still spoken today in some areas of Trentino, and means "to turn pink."

Enrosadira therefore refers to the phenomenon of the reddening of the Dolomite peaks, which at sunset turn from orange to purple, gradually giving way to the blue of the night.
