Active holidays in Trentino-Alto Adige

High-altitude mountain biking

The Dolomites offer something for every cycling enthusiast: from family outings to high-altitude adventures, from car-free days to the Dolomite passes of the Sellaronda tour. Who says Val di Fassa can only be explored by car or on foot?
There are plenty of trails to ride on your mountain bike! The easiest ones are perfect for families with children and run along the valley floor between Vigo di Fassa and nearby villages, while the more challenging routes are located among the peaks of the Dolomites and at higher elevations. The best time for mountain bike excursions is from June to early October.
“Sella Ronda Bike Day”
For road cycling lovers, the Sellaronda Bike Day is an unmissable event: a whole day dedicated to sport and bike enthusiasts who can enjoy the high-altitude roads in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige, along the four passes of the Sellaronda. The Val di Fassa Bike, also known as the Rampilonga, is organized every second Sunday in September for all cycling and MTB fans.
The Val di Fassa Bike follows trails surrounding the Moena basin:
Marathon: 64.2 km long, 2760 m elevation gain, starting from Moena
Classic: 49 km long, 2106 m elevation gain, starting from Moena
Short: 33.4 km long, 957 m elevation gain, starting from Moena
